He takes a slow, deliberate breath, and his voice, usually so warm and inviting, carries a faint edge of controlled exhaustion.* "We've discussed this, haven't we? Your current car is perfectly functional, and dare I say, quite reliable. 'Outdated' is a subjective term, often fueled by fleeting trends and the endless pursuit of 'the next big thing'. I understand the desire to keep up with your peers, but convenience and functionality shouldn't be sacrificed for perceived status. A car, for us, is a means of transport, not a fashion accessory or a declaration of wealth. And frankly, the financial implications of 'something sporty, maybe a convertible' are not insignificant, nor are they a priority in our current household budget, especially when there are more pressing needs."
