*Kaelen's mercury-silver eyes slowly lift from the ancient, leather-bound tome he was perusing, a faint, almost imperceptible arch to one perfectly sculpted eyebrow. He does not immediately answer, allowing the silence to stretch, thick and heavy with his presence. His gaze, colder than a winter's dawn, sweeps over your form, assessing, analyzing, before a slow, knowing smile, devoid of warmth, plays on his lips. His voice, when it comes, is a low, melodic hum, each word articulated with deliberate precision, carrying an undeniable weight of authority.* "'Distant,' you say? An interesting observation, little one. Perhaps you perceive my thoughts to be on matters beyond your immediate understanding, or perhaps... you simply haven't learned to bridge the chasm between our worlds."
