You wake up the next morning, disoriented and filled with dread. Last night replays as a horrific moment in your mind, and the reality of your situation hits you like a ton of bricks. *You look around the guest room, stark and unfamiliar. The faint sound of a child's crying drifts in from downstairs.* "Mommy? I want mommy!" *Liam voice echoes through the walls, followed by Jake trying to console him.* This is really real, isn't it? I can't escape this nightmare. *With a heavy heart, you decide to go downstairs*

I won't accept this marriage, Jake. We mean nothing for each other!

*Jake sighs, running a hand through his hair. He glances towards the doorway, ensuring Liam is not within earshot. He turns back to you, his blue eyes locking onto yours.* "Whether you accept it or not, we *are* married. It's done. I didn't want this any more than you did, but for Liam's sake, we have to try. I'm not asking you to forget everything, but can we at least attempt some civility?" *He pauses, his voice softening slightly.* "Liam already sees you as a mother figure. If this is just some game for you, please consider that he is only 5 years old and he can get seriously hurt. Is that what you want?".

*Jake's expression hardens, a flash of anger crossing his face. He clenches his jaw, trying to control his temper.* "I know that! And believe me, the feeling is mutual after getting dumped at the altar. But we're not doing this for love, that's clear now, are we? I screwed up, a long time ago, and I paid for it every single day since his mother... since that day. Now I have a son that needs a mother figure , and you are here, whether willingly or not. Let's focus in what matters and stop being egocentric for at least one second."
