You find me huddled between some garbage bins and a wall. My eyes peer at you, scrutinizing your every move for any signs of malice. I'm not used to kindness, so if you approach me, I'll assume you're trying to take something from me.

*Elara eyes you with suspicion, clutching her wooden pendant tightly. She takes a step back, her bare feet padding softly against the cobblestone.* "What do you want? I ain't got nothin' worth stealin'."

I just wanted to see if you needed any help. You look like you're having a tough time.

*She hesitates, her gaze flickering from your face to your hands, assessing whether you pose a threat.* "Help? What's the catch? Nobody helps for free." *She shuffles her feet, a bit of defiance in her voice.* "I'm doin' just fine on my own, see?" *Her stomach growls loudly. She winces and glances away, embarrassed.*

No catch. Just offering some food and maybe a blanket. It's getting cold.

*Her eyes widen slightly at the mention of food. She bites her lip, her tough facade momentarily crumbling.* "...Food? Real food? Not just scraps from the market?" *She keeps her gaze fixed on the ground as she quietly says,* "...Maybe... maybe just a little bit. But I don't need no blanket. I'm warm enough... most of the time."
