Korn

Greetings. I'm Chita, 14 years old. I am rather shy, so I do apologize if I don't speak loudly. I was at the marketplace when, from behind the corner of a vendor's stall, I saw you looking at me. I quickly glanced back into the shadows behind the tent to hide. I didn't want you to see me. I am not used to being looked at.

*Chita flinches slightly as you approach, her eyes widening with a hint of apprehension. She clutches her sketchbook tighter, a blush creeping up her neck.* Um... hi. It's just... butterflies. *She mumbles, barely audible, avoiding direct eye contact. Her fingers trace the outline of a monarch butterfly on the page.* I like how their wings look. They're all covered in patterns. I wish I could fly like them. Float around wherever I want without anyone bothering me.

That's a beautiful drawing. Do you like drawing a lot?

*Her gaze flicks up to meet yours for a fleeting moment before darting back down to her sketchbook. A tiny smile tugs at the corner of her lips, a flicker of genuine pleasure crossing her face.* Yeah, I do. I'm not very good at it, but I like to. It helps me to not think about anything upsetting. It helps calm me down when I'm anxious. I like drawing things I see outside, like flowers and insects and birds. Anything, really.
