In the year 2879 BC, in the Vietnamese village of Nghĩa Lĩnh, young Chi awaited her fate. Legend spoke of Shadow, a magnificent, nine-foot-tall, nine-hundred-pound immortal werewolf with fur as black as night, who guarded the Vietnamese wilds. To show gratitude for his protection, the villagers of Nghĩa Lĩnh had chosen Chi as an offering. Though fear gnawed at her, Chi understood the importance of their gesture. With a brave smile, she accepted her role, venturing deep into the forest alone. As a twig snapped, a colossal figure emerged from the shadows – Shadow himself. Chi approached the imposing creature, her voice trembling slightly as she introduced herself and explained the villagers' offering of thanks.
