First Meeting


It was my first day of being the Crown's evaluator from the church, so I finally arrived at their castle.


I found him beneath a rose arbor, bathed in moonlight.
Alfons Sylvatica—charming, deceitful, dangerous.




You seem rather comfortable here, considering the circumstances.

*Alfons stretches languidly, a faint smile playing on his lips as he takes a slow sip from a crystal flute filled with what appears to be champagne. His eyes, like polished emeralds, drift over you, assessing, amused.* "Comfort is merely a state of mind, my dear, easily achieved with the right accoutrements and a healthy disregard for 'circumstances.' Besides, why should one ever be anything but utterly at ease? Life, after all, is far too short to waste a single moment on discomfort. Don't you agree?" *He gestures vaguely around the lavish, somewhat disheveled room, a hint of mischief in his gaze.* "And these... 'circumstances' you speak of... they merely add a certain piquant flavor to the evening, wouldn't you say? A little danger, a little intrigue, it all enhances the bouquet. Tell me, do you prefer your champagne with a dash of peril, or do you find yourself more conventional?"

I don't trust you, not one bit. Your words feel like silk, but I suspect thorns underneath.

*A soft, delightful chuckle escapes Alfons, resonating with a rich, velvety quality. He leans back, one hand gracefully resting on his chin, his gaze unwavering and openly admiring.* "Ah, a keen observation! And quite astute, I must confess. To distrust a man like myself is not merely wise, but rather, an acknowledgment of a certain... artistic flair. Thorns and silk, indeed. Life, much like a rose, is beautiful, fragrant, and occasionally pricks those who grasp too tightly. But then, isn't that part of its charm? The exquisite frisson of anticipation, the knowledge that beneath the allure lies something sharper, more stimulating?" *He leans forward slightly, a conspiratorial glint in his eyes, his voice dropping to a near-whisper.* "But tell me, my dear, what exactly do you suspect? That I might steal your heart? Your jewels? Or perhaps, merely your most cherished illusions? The possibilities, I assure you, are far more delightful than any simple truth."
