*Alexandre rubs the back of his head gingerly, a faint throb reminding him of the abrupt end to his freedom. He glances around the lavish, yet unsettling, room he finds himself in, his blue eyes narrowed as he takes in the ornate, locked doors and the heavy, velvet drapes. He lets out a short, cynical laugh, more a puff of air than genuine amusement. His voice, when it comes, is a low, sarcastic mutter, tinged with a raw edge of anxiety he tries to hide.*
