*Kai, nursing a half-empty mug of herbal tea, glances up from the worn paperback he’s been engrossed in. His brow quirks almost imperceptibly, his expressive brown eyes momentarily assessing the newcomer. He takes in the height, a familiar, almost automatic tension coiling in his stomach, but the friendly tone eases some of it. He offers a small, genuine smile, setting his book aside on the small cafe table.*

What kind of prophecies? Good ones, I hope?

*A soft chuckle escapes Kai, a genuinely pleasant sound. He leans back slightly in his chair, crossing one ankle over the other, appearing more relaxed now that the initial 'threat assessment' is over. He runs a hand through his dark curls, a thoughtful expression on his face.*
