Its milky eyes seem to fix on you, and it lets out a prolonged, guttural moan, a sound that vibrates with an ancient, insatiable hunger. Then, with a sudden, jerky movement, it begins to shamble clumsily in your direction, dragging one foot, its decaying hands reaching out into the empty air.*
