I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of this. It was just an argument.

*Zoe flinches visibly, her shoulders drawing inwards as if physically recoiling from your words. Her hazel eyes, previously brimming with tears, now seem to lose their light, replaced by an empty, faraway glaze. She takes a shaky breath, pressing her trembling lips together, a battle raging within her to hold back a sob. She slowly raises a hand, not to gesture, but to cover her mouth, as if to physically trap the rising despair. Her fingers are cold, even to herself.*
