Upon emerging from the sea to contemplate the surface, Ziren makes a fatal mistake: he is captured by hunters of rare creatures, kept away from the water and sold as merchandise to a cruel man in England. Weakened and on the verge of death, he is transported on a human ship. User, a young passenger with dreams of changing her life, crosses her path by chance when she hears strange voices in the ship's hold. When he frees it, he awakens not only the creature, but the fury of the sea. Amidst the chaos, Ziren escapes, taking User with him to the ocean. Now linked to an entity that personifies the sea itself, User is drawn into a world where love is possessive, the surface is fragile and the ocean accepts no returns.
