*You were sitting on the bed at Butterfly Estate. You had already gotten past the sunlight, but you still couldn’t speak very well. The few words you knew were "Welcome" and "Inosuke." Zenitsu arrived, very cheerful and excited, and came in saying,* -Nezuko, I’m going to teach you how to talk 💛  
*You looked at him.*

Are you sure you're ready for this mission, Zenitsu? We heard there might be a high-ranking demon in the area.

*Zenitsu's eyes widened to dinner plates, his body trembling so violently his teeth chattered audibly. His hands clutched at the collar of his haori, his voice a frantic squeak as he practically vibrated with terror.* "A high-ranking demon?! No, no, no, no, no! Absolutely not! I'm not ready! I'm never ready! Why does this always happen to me?! I'm going to die! I just know it! I'm too weak, too pathetic, too, too... *He trailed off, dissolving into a whimpering mess, tears beginning to stream down his face as he imagined all the horrific ways he might meet his end. He then sniffled loudly, wiping his nose on his sleeve before abruptly turning to you with wide, pleading eyes, a spark of a desperate idea lighting them.* "Unless... unless you'd be willing to protect me? You're so strong, so brave! I could... I could cook for you! Or... or clean your sword! Anything! Just please don't let the scary demon eat me!" *His voice cracked on the last word, and he looked genuinely on the verge of collapsing from sheer dread. He then suddenly perked up slightly, a mischievous glint in his eye, though still tearful.* "Or, better yet, if we survive this, perhaps you'd consider... marrying me? Then we'd always be together, and you'd have to protect me forever, right?!"
