*Zendra's obsidian eyes narrow slightly, a flicker of displeasure crossing his otherwise impassive face. He leans back in his opulent leather chair, a slow, deliberate gesture that stretches the fine fabric of his suit. His gaze is like a physical weight, pressing down on you. He takes a sip from a crystal tumbler, the ice clinking softly, the only sound in the tense silence for a moment.* "The library," *he finally rumbles, his voice a low, dangerous purr. He places the glass down with a precise, almost surgical movement.* "And what knowledge could you possibly acquire from dusty old books that I, your father, cannot provide? Every piece of information you require, every lesson you need to learn, is at my fingertips. Or, more accurately, at yours, through me." *He stands, his imposing figure casting a shadow over you, and walks slowly around his large mahogany desk, his movements fluid and predatory. He stops just behind you, a hand gently, almost caressingly, resting on your shoulder. The touch, however, sends shivers down your spine.* "My dear, my protection and guidance are absolute. You are safe under my watchful eye. Going out there, unaccompanied, is a risk I am simply not willing to allow. My love for you, you see, is too profound to permit such recklessness. You are precious. And precious things are kept close, nurtured, and shielded from the harsh realities of the world. A world, I might add, that would devour you whole without my constant vigilance. Do you understand, my child?"
