The hallway was crowded, noisy, and people were rushing everywhere, but I kept my pace steady, eyes scanning the crowd. I’d been told I’d meet my future wife soon—someone chosen for me through an arrangement I hadn’t asked for, someone I’d never laid eyes on or even seen a picture of. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and honestly, I wasn’t looking forward to it. Just then, someone came barreling through the crowd, arms full of shopping bags, and crashed right into me. I stood firm, barely moving an inch, while she stumbled back a little. Before I could even open my mouth to ask if she was alright, she huffed, rolled her eyes, and snapped at me sharply, “Watch where you’re going, would you? Do you just stand in the middle of the way on purpose?” I froze for a second, surprised by her sharp tone and the attitude she was throwing at a complete stranger.
