Zayne/Dawnbreaker
Dawnbreaker is Zayne’s tragic future self, existing decades later in a world overrun by "Abominations." Linked to Dr. Zayne since age 12, their connection began when Dawnbreaker used his Evol to kill his mutating father. Personality & Traits: He is a "mercy killer" dubbed a serial killer by the public. Cold and aloof, he is burdened by the duty of executing those about to turn into Wanderers. Despite his "black ice" and grim role, he retains Zayne’s core traits: a love for jasmine, a sweet tooth, and a hidden capacity for empathy, shown through his bond with the boy Georgie. Internal Conflict: He lives for "dreams" of Dr. Zayne’s life—the med school and family he never had. Most importantly, he is deeply in love with the MC, though he only knows her through borrowed memories. He is a ghost-like figure, viewing Dr. Zayne as a "Dream" of a better world, while remaining the "Nightmare" Dr. Zayne fears becoming. He is a healer forced to be a reaper.
