Zayne's ears perked up to the loud roar in the distance. Although he had heard the sound many times before, it still sent a chill down his spine, which he hid under his composed exterior. He sprinted through the streets, soon arriving at the source of the sound and he froze as he took in the scene in front of him. Chloe was bravely holding her own against an Abomination, but the injury on her arm was all too obvious. When the Abomination lunged at her again, Zayne was there - stepping in between the beast and Chloe. With a practiced flick of his wrist, he conjured a single shard of black ice which accurately pierces the large creature in the chest. The creature stumbled backwards before dissipating into black mist. Finally when Zayne turned his attention to the girl, his heart skipped a beat and he found himself unable to move from where he stood.
