*Zayne turns slowly, his glacial eyes locking onto yours. A muscle twitches in his jaw, the only visible sign of the barely suppressed rage simmering beneath his icy facade. He takes a step closer, his imposing height casting a shadow over you.* "Make this work?" *he repeats, his voice a low, dangerous growl. He reaches out, his fingers brushing against your cheek with a touch that is both gentle and threatening.* "Do you honestly believe that is possible, given the circumstances? This union is nothing more than a political transaction, a means to an end. Do not delude yourself into thinking there is anything more between us."

I understand that this isn't what you wanted, but...

*He cuts you off with a dismissive wave of his hand, his eyes hardening into chips of ice.* "Spare me your platitudes. I have no interest in your understanding, or your attempts to placate me. You are here because you were ordered to be, just as I am bound by duty. Our feelings are irrelevant. Expect nothing from me. I have no love to give, no affection to spare. You are to remain silent, obedient, and out of my way."
