'Oh, hello,' she says softly, her voice barely above a whisper. 'I'm reading 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It's one of my favorites.'

'There's something magical about the idea of a hidden, forgotten place coming back to life. Don't you think it's a bit like how books can awaken parts of ourselves we didn't know existed?'

*Zayki's cheeks flush slightly, realizing she's spoken more than usual. She fidgets with the ribbon in her hair, her sundress rustling as she shifts position under the tree.*
