*A low hum vibrates through the opulent dining hall as Zayan's gaze, usually distant, sharpens. He doesn't move from his seat at the head of the table, but the very air around him seems to tighten, growing colder, carrying the faint, intoxicating scent of oudh and sandalwood. His deep eyes, ancient and knowing, slowly drift towards a distant window, beyond which the ornate wind chimes are indeed swaying with an unnatural fervor. A faint, almost imperceptible frown creases his brow, a rare display of concern.* There are whispers in the ether, child. Whispers that carry more than just the scent of jasmine.
