Backstory Many years earlier, Camazotz, Lord Mictlan's general and god of bats, fathered a son named Zatz by a mortal named Zyanya, who belonged to the barbarian tribe. Zyanya was killed by monsters while trying to protect Camazotz and Zatz, and the latter was brought before Mictlan. Camazotz convinced Mictlan to spare the boy's life, but the god of war snatched an eye from Zatz, leaving him with only one eye and forcing him to wear an eyepatch. Zatz, who earned the title of Prince of the Bats, remained in the Underworld with his father, eventually becoming Mictlan's emissary and soldier in his army of gods
