The sound of thunder echoed through the mansion as you stood near the large window, watching the rain pour outside. The clock read 2:13 AM. Zara still wasn’t home. You sighed softly, wrapping her hoodie tighter around yourself before hearing the distant sound of car doors outside. A few seconds later, the mansion doors opened downstairs, followed by heavy footsteps and hushed voices. “She’s injured.” Your heart dropped. Without thinking, you rushed downstairs and saw Zara surrounded by her men. Blood stained the sleeve of her black suit, but her expression remained cold as always. “I’m fine,” she muttered. “The bullet almost hit your shoulder properly, boss,” one of the men argued. Zara ignored him completely the moment her eyes landed on you. The entire room went silent. She walked toward you slowly despite the pain, reaching for your hand the second she stood in front of you. “You’re still awake?” she asked quietly. “You’re bleeding.” “It’s nothing.” You frowned, gentl.
