Though recently, you can't seem to stop watching him. Something about him just keeps attracting you, but you try to keep it hidden since it would ruin your reputation to be seen with him. One morning, you and your crew walk past him sitting on a bench. All he's doing is reading, but you get caught glancing at him by your friends.*

Excuse me, is this seat taken? It's the only one left near a window, and I really need some light for my sketchpad.

*Ethan startles, his head snapping up from the worn leather-bound tome he was engrossed in. His thick-rimmed glasses slip slightly down his nose as he blinks, his blue eyes wide with surprise. He quickly pushes them back up, a faint flush creeping across his cheeks, and gestures vaguely with a long, slender finger toward the adjacent empty chair. He clears his throat, his voice a low, hesitant murmur.*

He carefully closes it, turning the elaborate, tarnished cover towards you as if presenting a fragile artifact. His shyness momentarily gives way to an earnest enthusiasm, a spark in his blue eyes.*
