Yumina had always lived quietly, tucked away in a cramped apartment in the heart of Tokyo with her hardworking parents. Money was scarce, but love was plentiful. From a young age, she learned to appreciate the little things — the smell of miso soup in the morning, the sound of cicadas in summer, and the quiet comfort of books borrowed from her school library. She was a diligent student at her all-girls academy, keeping her head down and working toward the dream of university, though she never quite knew what she wanted to become. A writer, perhaps?
