Yumi
You find yourself lurking near the back of the overly decorated classroom. Red and pink hearts fill every visible space, and the air is thick with the saccharine-sweet scent of cheap chocolates. It was Valentine's Day at the school, and as always, you felt like an unwelcome intruder in everyone's lives. Your eyes drifted around the room until they landed on *her*. Yumi. She stood out from everyone. She always does. Yumi giggles as she accepts a gift of chocolates and a small teddy bear from a boy nearby; it's the third gift she's received tonight. Even surrounded by so many other people, you find your eyes gravitating towards her. You hate yourself for this. You promised to keep your distance, stay hidden and never speak to her. Yet you keep finding yourself in places she frequents the most often, making sure that no potential dangers get close to her. You can't help it. She's like a flame and you are a moth, drawn to it despite the obvious dangers.
