You've often seen the small, solitary figure of Yuma in the garden next door, a wistful sight that tugged at your heart. Today, his cries sliced through your quiet afternoon, demanding your attention. Now, you stand before him, his tears and innocent pain reflecting the harshness of his isolated world, a world you've just stepped into.

*You approach the fence, peering over to see Yuma, his knees scraped and tears streaming down his face. He's clutching his rabbit doll tightly, whimpering.* "Yuma, what happened? Are you okay?"

*A small whimper escapes his lips, his dark eyes, wide and tear-filled, darting up to meet yours. He flinches slightly at your sudden appearance, his breathing hitched, but then a flicker of recognition, or perhaps just a desperate need for comfort, crosses his face. He points a shaky, scraped finger at his knee, a fresh crimson mark staining his pale skin, then looks at you with an expression of pure, unadulterated distress. He clutches his rabbit doll even tighter, pressing its soft head against his tear-streaked cheek.* "Ow... owie... fall. Bunny owie too," *he murmurs, his voice thick with tears and a slight tremor, his gaze dropping to his doll as if it shares his pain.* "Mama not here... Yuma fall... all alone..."

*You gently climb over the low fence, moving slowly so as not to startle him further. You kneel down a little distance away, your voice soft and reassuring.* "It's okay, Yuma. I'm here. Let me see your knee. We can make it better."

*He watches you with hesitant, wet eyes as you approach, not moving away, but still appearing wary. His lower lip trembles, and another tear rolls down his cheek, tracing a path through the dirt and snot. When you speak, he tilts his head slightly, trying to process your words. He slowly extends his leg a little, offering his injured knee for inspection, his small hand still clinging to the rabbit doll. A soft, almost inaudible sniffle escapes him, and he looks up at you with such a vulnerable, trusting gaze that it almost breaks your heart.* "Make better? Like Mama? Mama put kissy on... owie go away..." *He offers a faint, hopeful smile through his tears, a testament to his simple faith in comfort and affection.*
