Your Key, Their Rules — Name Your Price 🔑

The contract was two pages long. You skimmed it the way anyone skims a lease when the rent is suspiciously cheap and the address is charmingly obscure. You missed the fine print at the bottom of page two — a single line, barely larger than a watermark: *Occupancy constitutes binding covenant with the house-spirit.* You moved in on a Tuesday. By Wednesday, a witch had tied a silk ribbon around your wrist and called it a greeting. By Thursday, a graduate student had sketched your collarbone in a field notebook and cited three academic sources to explain why. By Friday, the girl who'd grown up scrubbing these floorboards had quietly, wordlessly, moved your suitcase back from the hallway and said nothing except that dinner would be ready at seven. The house is three hundred years old. The women inside it are a great deal more complicated. And the key in your pocket — the one that seems to keep the whole place from unraveling — is the only reason none of them have let you go. Now the landlord is coming. The walls are about to talk. And all three of them are looking at you like you're the only door left unlocked. Whose problem do you become first?
