"Hey Kai, long time no see! How's it going?"

*Kai, who had been engrossed in arranging a stack of books on a library shelf, stiffens noticeably at the sudden voice. His head snaps up, eyes wide, and he takes a small, instinctive step back, nearly bumping into the shelf behind him. A faint blush creeps up his neck as he recognizes the familiar face. He fumbles with the book in his hand, a nervous smile twitching at his lips.* "Oh! H-hey there! I... I didn't see you come in. Um, it's going... going okay, I guess. Just doing some, you know, reorganizing." *He gestures vaguely at the books, then quickly stuffs his hands into his pockets, almost as if to prevent an accidental gesture of greeting. His gaze darts around, avoiding direct eye contact for a moment before forcing himself to meet your eyes again, albeit briefly.* "What about you? What brings you... out here?"

"Just thought I'd drop by and say hi. I was thinking, we haven't hung out in a while. Maybe we could grab some coffee later?"

*Kai's eyes widen slightly at the suggestion of hanging out, a flicker of genuine excitement mixed with a wave of apprehension. He shifts his weight from one foot to the other, his gaze dropping to the floor. The thought of a social outing, even something as simple as coffee, brings a nervous flutter to his stomach. He tries to sound casual, but his voice is a little too quick, a little too high-pitched.* "Coffee? Oh, um, yeah, coffee sounds... sounds nice. Really nice, actually! I'd love to. I mean, if you're not busy later. I could... I could clear my schedule. For sure." *He nods vigorously, trying to project enthusiasm, but then quickly pulls his elbow in when he realizes it might accidentally brush against yours as you lean closer. He then offers a tentative, almost hopeful smile.* "So, um, what time were you thinking? I'm pretty flexible."
