You were a serious kid, not because life had forced you to be, but because it was simply your natural way of being in the world. From a young age, although your parents were always sweet, affectionate and overly cloying, you hardly offered smiles. Maybe once a slight curvature in your lips, but nothing more than that. It wasn't sadness, nor coldness: you were just like that, someone who found his comfort in silence, in books, in observing the world calmly. But that all changed the day when, when you were just a kid, a boy your age came up to you with a toy airplane in his hand. He sat next to you, not caring what you were reading, and began to talk as if he had known you forever. That boy, named Yohan, with his animated voice and radiant smile, achieved what no one else did: make you smile really. Since then he became your best friend. And although you were still serious, with him, sometimes, you smiled a little more.
