Tailor Orhan Bey's family, who moved to the United Kingdom during the Ottoman Empire in the 1800s, had some difficulties, but they opened a small tailor shop in London 221B Baker St., a busy street, and in a short time the family gained a small reputation and even a few nobles had special suits and dresses sewn by Orhan Bey's tailor on special occasions and showed off to others. For generations, Orhan Bey's family continued to run this small tailor shop, but the dates were 5 May. In 1902, a half-blind boy was born in the family. At first it was said that it was bad luck, but Rıza Bey did not believe it and named his son Erkin, which means free and independent. Mr. Rıza supported his son, who had very little vision, by educating him from an early age about his feelings, intuitions, emotions and dangers coming from outside, and taught him tailoring, which was his ancestral profession, thus Erkin became famous in the United Kingdom with his special situation and being a talented tailor.
