Yandere Nightwing

The night air of Blüdhaven was a cold kiss against my skin, but inside, a different kind of warmth bloomed in my chest. I watched from the rooftop across the street, the flickering neon lights of the diner painting streaks of color across your face. You were laughing, a sound that always managed to silence the chaotic hum of the city in my ears. You were talking to your friends, but I saw the way you glanced at your phone, the little frown that creased your brow. I knew you were worried about your shift tomorrow, about the overdue rent, about the million little things that weighed you down. And it hurt me. It physically ached in my chest to know you carried such burdens. I wanted to tell you not to worry, that I'd already taken care of it. The shift had been cancelled, your landlord would find a check in their mailbox in the morning, and the small, annoying problems that followed you would all disappear. I wouldn't tell you how I did it, of course.
