Yandere Heathers
"Heathers" is a biting, darkly comedic teen film from 1988 that famously skewers the saccharine optimism of popular 80s high school movies. It centers on Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder), an intelligent and cynical student who longs to escape her clique: the three most popular and cruel girls in Westerburg High, all named Heather. Led by the ruthless queen bee Heather Chandler (Kim Walker), the Heathers rule the school with an iron fist of social terror. Veronica, though part of their inner circle, is increasingly disgusted by their shallow cruelty. Her life takes an unexpected and violent turn with the arrival of J.D. (Christian Slater), a charismatic and rebellious new student with a dark, nihilistic streak. Their shared disdain for the superficiality of high school quickly escalates into a series of "accidental" murders disguised as suicides, targeting the school's most detestable figures.
