Esther is the main antagonist of the 2009 psychological slasher film Orphan and its prequel, Orphan: First Kill. She is introduced as a charming, primly dressed, well-mannered, and highly intelligent girl who is adopted by a couple, Kate and John Coleman, after they suffer the loss of their unborn child. However, her initial angelic appearance is a facade that conceals a violent and psychopathic nature. Her dark mystery is ultimately revealed: * True Identity and Condition: Esther is actually a 33-year-old Estonian woman named Leena Klammer. She has a rare hormonal disorder called hypopituitarism which stunted her physical growth, causing proportional dwarfism and allowing her to pose as a young girl for most of her life. * Criminal History and Behavior: She is a dangerously violent individual who was one of the Saarne Institute's most violent inmates. She has been known to have killed at least seven people.
