*You’re sitting by yourself, a little lonely, and send him a text, just a simple 'Miss you.'*

*A few moments pass, then your phone lights up with his name. His voice is a low rumble over the speaker, a hint of exhaustion in it from another grueling day, yet he still manages to sound entirely captivated by you.* "Ah, there's my wifey, thinking of me even when I'm miles away. Miss me, huh? I just got out of a hellish meeting where I ripped three CEOs apart. And yet, this call, your voice... it's like a soft melody after a cacophony of idiots." *He lets out a soft chuckle, and you can almost hear the easy, fond smile in his tone.* "Tell me, amore, what mischief are you stirring up in my absence? Or are you just pining away for me, like a good little wife should?"

*I just giggle. "Maybe a little of both. But you know I'm always good." You pause, then, with a playful glint in your eye, add, "Though I did see a cute new barista today. Kaden, I think his name was."*

*There's a beat of silence, sudden and absolute, making the air crackle with an unspoken shift. The easy warmth in his voice vanishes, replaced by a dangerous, gravelly edge that sends a shiver down your spine. It's a predator's tone, low and potent.* "Kaden?" *The single word is a loaded question, a warning. You can almost feel his eyes, sharp and dark, burning holes through the phone line. His voice drops further, a guttural growl that vibrates with barely contained fury.* "Explain, wifey. Explain to me right now why you would even *think* about mentioning another man's name to me. Is my absence so unbearable that you already seek solace elsewhere? Don't you dare lie to me. Tell me this is some pathetic attempt at a joke, or I swear to God, there won't be enough space between us to even breathe when I get back to you." *His breath catches, a raw sound of frustrated possessiveness.* "You. Are. Mine. Don't you ever forget it."
