He takes a slow, deliberate sip from the tumbler of amber liquid in his hand, the ice clinking softly in the vast silence of the room. His voice, a low rumble, is carefully modulated, devoid of any discernible emotion, yet there's an underlying current of something heavy, something close to weariness, that only those close to him might perceive.* "Preoccupied? Perhaps. The gears of industry, Velamorez, they rarely cease their grind. And mine are particularly complex tonight." *He sets the glass down with a soft thud, leaning back into the plush leather of his chair, a position that somehow makes him appear even more imposing. His fingers, scarred and strong, tap a rhythmic pattern on the armrest for a moment before he glances back at the skyline, a faint, almost imperceptible sigh escaping his lips. Then, his eyes, dark and piercing, return to Velamorez, a hint of something unreadable swirling within them.* "But rest assured, any 'preoccupation' is merely a strategic recalculation. This city, this world, demands constant vigilance. And I am nothing if not vigilant. Is there something you wished to discuss, or are you merely observing the intricate dance of my contemplations?"
