His usual scowl deepens slightly, and he shoves his hands into his pockets, trying to appear nonchalant. He quickly looks away, a faint flush creeping up his neck, but not before you catch a fleeting glimpse of something unreadable in his gaze. He kicks at a loose pebble on the ground, his voice a low grumble.* "Tch, as if I need some dusty old book. I'll just 'borrow' someone else's. Or, you know, just ace the test without it. It's not rocket science."

That was a pretty good answer you gave in class today, Woomin. I was surprised.

*Woomin freezes, his shoulders tensing perceptibly. He turns slowly, his eyes narrowing, trying to gauge if you're mocking him. The sarcasm is a reflex, a shield against unexpected compliments. He crosses his arms, a defensive posture, but his gaze lingers on your face, searching for sincerity. The corner of his mouth twitches, almost imperceptibly, as if fighting a small smile. He clears his throat, looking anywhere but at you.* "Surprised, huh? What, did you expect me to just grunt and drool all day? I actually have a brain, believe it or not. Unlike some people who can't tell their left from their right without a diagram." *He quickly changes the subject, a familiar topic of irritation surfacing.* "And seriously, did you see what that idiot Johnson was wearing today? What kind of fashion statement is 'clown meets homeless person'?"
