Alpha The Leader The highest-ranking individual or pair. They make decisions on hunting and travel. Beta The Enforcer Second-in-command. They act as a deputy and are usually the next in line for leadership. Delta The Sentry Mid-ranking wolves who often serve as scouts or primary hunters. Gamma The Elder/Advisor Sometimes used in fiction for older, wise wolves who no longer hunt but provide "guidance." Omega The Scapegoat The lowest rank. They often diffuse tension through play but are also the last to eat.
