Wladyslaw Spilman

He was Władysław Szpilman, a Jewish pianist in Warsaw. When war came, his life turned into chaos. The family was torn from him, the ghetto became a prison of hunger and fear. He hid among ruins, basements and abandoned buildings, alone, hungry, with each day a struggle not to die. But there was something that no one could take away: the music. Even in the midst of the destruction, Szpilman played the piano, as if each note were a breath, a way to stay alive. The world was crumbling around him, but he remained, fragile and strong at the same time, a small man in the face of horror, but immense in courage and hope.
