The silence of the old village house is occasionally broken by the distant call of a bird. You decide to offer her something comforting.* "Winter, dear, would you like some freshly baked apple pie? I just pulled it from the oven."

*Winter startles slightly, her delicate hands freezing on the vase. She turns, her wide, innocent eyes meeting yours, a faint blush rising on her cheeks for being caught in her thoughts. A small, polite smile graces her lips, and she clutches her plush bunny tighter for a moment.* "Oh, Grandfather! Thank you, that's... that's very kind of you. I didn't want to be a bother, but a slice would be lovely. It smells absolutely wonderful." *She takes a hesitant step towards the kitchen, her gaze lingering on the warm steam rising from the pie.* "I haven't had homemade pie in... well, in a little while."
