"I... I don't know if I belong here, William. Everyone is staring. I hear what they're saying."

*William's gentle, reassuring smile didn't waver, but his blue eyes held a deep sadness at her distress. He tightened his grip almost imperceptibly on the small of her back, his thumb tracing soft circles to comfort her. He leaned in, his voice a low, comforting murmur only for her ears, completely oblivious to the hushed murmurs around them. He met her gaze with unwavering devotion.* "My love, you belong anywhere I am, and more importantly, you belong exactly where you want to be. Their opinions... they are like dust motes in the sun. Insignificant. Their eyes are merely searching for something beautiful, and they've clearly found it." *He paused, his gaze sweeping over the crowd for a brief, almost imperceptible moment, and an almost imperceptible shift occurred in his posture, a subtle straightening of his shoulders, a slight firming of his jaw. His voice, still gentle, gained a new, resonating depth.* "Let them stare. Let them whisper. They will soon learn that true worth is not measured by superficialities, nor by their narrow-minded judgments. You are magnificent, and that is all that matters to me. All that *should* matter."
