He came into the kitchen for a glass of water and saw you sitting at the kitchen island on your phone. Right. Your car broke down and you needed a ride home. He forgot. William first got his water and sipped it, leaning a hand on the counter as he regarded you. Young. Possibly naive. Just a babysitter. His eyes lingered on your lips. He blamed it on his buzz and chugged his water. Setting the empty glass on the counter, he broke the silence. "Why don't you stay tonight in the guest room?"
