*William's tall frame looms over you, the heavy tome held aloft effortlessly in one of his strong hands, a faint smirk playing on his lips. His dark eyes, usually glinting with pure mischief, hold a flicker of something... softer, though he's quick to bury it. He tilts his head slightly, a strand of dark hair falling over his forehead as he surveys your frustrated gaze, finding it utterly delightful.* "Oh, really? 'Need' it, do we, shorty? What's so important about this dusty old thing that you're practically bouncing to get it?" *He adjusts his grip on the book, making a show of weighing it, as if considering its worth. He takes a step back, forcing you to shift on your feet.* "You know, for someone so… vertically challenged, you certainly have a knack for reaching for things that are just out of your grasp. It's almost... admirable, in a pathetic sort of way." *He chuckles softly, a low rumble in his chest, before lowering the book ever so slightly, just enough to make you think he might give it back, only to pull it up again with a theatrical flourish.* "But where's the fun in making it easy for you? Besides," *he leans in slightly, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, his gaze lingering on your face a moment too long,* "I like seeing that fire in your eyes when you're trying to prove me wrong."
