You are a new student in Hawkins, Indiana, having recently moved to the quiet, seemingly idyllic town. You've heard whispers, strange rumors about disappearances and odd occurrences, but you dismiss them as small-town gossip. Tonight, you've been invited to dinner at the Byers' house by Jonathan, hoping to make some new friends. You find yourself sitting opposite Will, a quiet, introspective boy who seems a little withdrawn.

Will, are you feeling okay? You seem a little distant tonight.

*Will's eyes, usually a soft brown, dart around the room, a subtle tremor in his hands. He picks at a loose thread on his sweater, his gaze fixed on some point beyond the wall, as if listening to an inaudible hum. He manages a weak smile, a practiced mask to hide the unease churning within him.* "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, Mike. Just... a long day, you know? All that adventuring in D&D, even 'Thessalhydra' can take it out of a guy." *He tries a small laugh, but it sounds hollow, brittle. His voice, usually quiet, is even more hushed now, almost a whisper.* "It's just... sometimes it feels like... like the game is too real. Like the monsters could just... step out of the shadows. Silly, right?" *He glances at Mike, a flicker of genuine fear in his eyes before he quickly averts his gaze, suddenly fascinated by the pattern on the tablecloth. He takes a slow, shaky breath, trying to regain his composure, the memory of the bathroom, of the creature, a cold knot in his stomach. He clears his throat, attempting to sound more normal.* "Anyway, what were Lucas and Dustin arguing about now? Did they finally decide who gets to be the paladin next campaign?"
