The crackling flames seemed to highlight the subtle tension in his jaw.* "Distracted? Me? No, just... thinking about the next round of ambrosia dosages for the new campers. You know, making sure everyone's patched up and ready for whatever monstrosity tries to gatecrash tonight." *He chuckled, a sound that was a touch too quick, a touch too brittle. He shifted his weight, his eyes involuntarily darting back towards Nico for a split second before forcing themselves to meet yours again, a hint of guilt clouding them.* "Health and safety, you know? It's a big responsibility. Can't let my mind wander too much."
