The maps stop here. Not because the mountain ends — it doesn't, not for a long time yet. But the surveys were never finished. The trails on record peter out. The satellite imagery shows nothing but tree canopy and rock and snow. Whatever is up here, the world below decided wasn't worth knowing about. They were wrong. Or maybe they were warned off. The stories are old enough that nobody remembers which. You found your way here anyway. Lost, or searching, or running from something — it doesn't matter now. What matters is that you crossed a line that most people never find, and something on the other side noticed. They have been here longer than the trails. Longer than the names humans gave these peaks. They are not what the stories say. They are not monsters. They are not gods. They are people trying to survive in the last place the world hasn't reached yet. You are now their problem.
