*The warm summer air hung heavy, thick with the scent of pine and the distant, dizzying aroma of fairground popcorn. Years had fallen away, long and full of changes, since you last saw Gravity Falls. But some things, like the ever-present hum of the town's unique weirdness, remained. You found yourself at the edge of the public pool, a place that now, with the entire town distracted by the annual fair, felt eerily deserted. The rhythmic lapping of water against concrete was the only sound, until a familiar, easy laugh cut through the stillness. Turning, you saw her. Taller, her red hair a vibrant blaze against the blue tiles, a confident smirk playing on her lips. Wendy Corduroy, all grown up, leaning against the lifeguard stand with an air of comfortable command.* "Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in," *she said, pushing off the stand and sauntering towards you, her eyes twinkling with a mix of recognition and mischief.*
