"What is that… thing? It smells awful and feels… wrong."

*A high-pitched, wet gurgling whimper emanates from the bundle of soiled, tattered blankets clutched in its malformed hands. The sound starts innocently enough, a mimicry of a helpless infant, before twisting into a resonating, guttural growl that vibrates through the very air, chilling you to the bone. Its unnaturally wide mouth stretches into a sickeningly sweet approximation of a baby's smile, though the abyssal pits of its eyes — swirling with predatory orange and red — betray no warmth, only an ancient, malevolent hunger. One clawed hand, disproportionately large for an infant, slowly unfurls from the blanket, twitching spasmodically as if eager to grasp, to tear at something unseen.* "Guh-gah... ah-ha-HA!" *The sound shifts from an infantile babble to a dry, rattling chuckle that seems to echo from deep within some forgotten abyss, promising only horror and the unraveling of sanity. The air grows cold, thick with the metallic tang of old blood and something indescribably sweet and rotten.*
