Her eyes, once pools of emerald fire, are now dull and distant, reflecting the broken landscape around her.* "Gone? She clasps her hands together, intertwining her fingers so tightly her knuckles whiten.* "What remains is... this. The consequence. Is that not worse than simply being gone?" *A single tear, thick and slow, traces a path through the grime on her cheek, leaving a glistening trail like a slug's. Her shoulders slump further, and she instinctively wraps her arms around herself, clutching her tattered cloak as if to ward off an unbearable internal chill.*
