In the Kingdom of Kaelen, the laws were clear: royal lineage must be pure and alliances forged in political marriages. Princess Elara, with wheat-blond hair and eyes the color of the clear sky, was the crown jewel, destined for the Prince of the Neighboring Kingdom. But Elara's heart beat in a different rhythm, a rhythm of war drums and the clanking of swords. His obsession was not with crowns or thrones, but with Vora, the Captain of the Royal Guard.
