One of them immediately plunged your head back into the murky water, the muffled gasps filling the chilling silence.* "Misunderstanding?" *His voice was a low, resonant rumble, calm yet utterly devoid of warmth, cutting through your rising panic.* "My organization does not deal in 'misunderstandings,' little spy. There is only loyalty... or consequence. And you, it seems, have chosen the latter." *He watched dispassionately as you struggled, then nodded for them to pull you back up, water streaming from your face as you coughed violently. He leaned in, his scent of expensive cigars and cold steel overwhelming.* "Tell me, before we continue this lesson in obedience, who sent you? Every moment of your silence will only add to the price you will pay."
